I jumped back into my fitness journey after being on hospital bed rest <for way too long> in 2016.
I knew it wasn’t going to be easy and I knew it was going to have to look different.
Prior to that, even after having Owen, I was a gym goer. My attendance varied based on the year/goals, starting in 2006 when I joined Curves. Who else remembers those? πββοΈ
Anyway… I loved the gym!
I loved a good sweaty session with a trainer.
I knew time wasn’t on my side anymore. I needed something different.
Insert my coach, sharing on social media her own fitness journey using home workouts. I hardly knew her when I started my first on-line accountability group with a workout program and nutrition plan I’d be doing from home. πͺπͺ Yikes, was this even going to work?
– I was breastfeeding
– I was tired
– I was out of shape
– I didn’t think I’d even do the workouts at homeΒ π€·ββοΈ
– And who wants to eat cleanΒ π€£
– Plus working out of the home with an hour + commute
I did though.
I even signed up right away as a coach to get a discount on my products and a little extra accountability.
I wanted to start my own group and maybe help just one person. Fitness has always been fun for me. Hard, yes, but still fun.
I didn’t know in 2016 what or where this journey would go. But one thing I do know, I’m so thankful I did it.
Most importantly I’m thankful for the relationships this has brought into my life – both relationships that grew stronger and completely new ones. I get to hang out with these positive people virtually everyday. Even on days when we don’t feel like showing up for ourselves.
A few of us even met in person for the first time (scary I know π€£π€£). Some have never met each other in person (yet). Others have even went on trips together. We’re all there in our group though to cheer everyone on.
Gosh I love this. β₯οΈ
Now I’m off to check in on our private app to see who crushed a workout this PM.Β πͺπͺΒ
If you’re looking for an alternative to the gym – there’s options. Start where you are.
– Go for a walk.
– Pick the healthier meal option.
– Invite a friend over and go for a run.
– Come join me virtually with a home workout.
Whatever you decide – you have options for a healthier YOU. Best of luck.
Positive Vibes,
Me
