The Vegan Snickers

Raise your hand if you’re a Snickers fan? Truthfully I’ve been more of a Butterfinger go-to person in the past, but I needed a chocolate fix non the less. This totally hit the spot.

Since my transition (still transitioning) to a plant-based lifestyle I’m always looking for foods that fit this new season of life. This isn’t obviously the healthiest recipe I’m sharing, but let’s be real to make adjustment changes for a lifetime, I need to help my sweet tooth along the way. Otherwise a binge will be in store for me. Plus for the most part these are all clean ingredients.

I’ll share more on that later on. It’s truly been eye opening or should I say gut changing. Seriously – more to come… now about those snickers.

I wanted to make this vegan friendly as well, since this is the route I’m ultimately heading down.

To get started you’ll want to gather a couple ingredients. I’ve linked each item to Amazon in case you don’t have it in your household and want to order it quick. Thank you Amazon Prime for quick delivery, am I right, and no need to leave your house.

Now that you have your ingredients on hand, let’s get to work. You’re going to want the following amounts give or take.

As you can see, I wing a lot of what I make and am not good at following recipes. Oops. I’ll try my best to make this specific though. Feel free to add any questions in the comments or reach out and I’ll hopefully have an answer for you.

Vegan Snickers Ingredients

  • 10 medijool dates
  • 1/4 cup (a little less – depends how many you put in each date)
  • 2-3 teaspoons of peanut butter (again depends on how you want to make them)
  • 1/2 cup of vegan dark chocolate (I’ve done with a little less as well)
  • Parchment paper (optional)

Vegan Snickers Instructions

  • Start by cutting the dates in half to take the pit out. It works best if you go the long way.
  • Next add a little bit of peanut butter to each of them. To stay within moderation you’ll want to maybe measure you’re 2-3 teaspoons of peanut butter first and then add. Rather than just grabbing from the jar. Speaking from experience.
  • Add a 2-3 peanuts on top of the peanut butter.
  • Squeeze the dates back together.
  • Melt the chocolate using the stove top or the microwave.
  • Drizzle or drop the dates into the melted chocolate to cover.
  • Put on parchment paper and toss in the fridge.
  • You know what to do from here. Enjoy one and then toss the rest into a container to keep for the week.

When that sweet tooth hits you know what to do!
Enjoy my friends!
